Introduction:

I have been a psychologist for 40 years. I have two undergraduate degrees and one graduate degree. My first undergraduate degree was at a Seminary in Portland, Oregon. I never felt a calling to be a minister and then traveled in the direction of psychology. My second undergraduate degree was at Wayne State University in Psychology and my graduate degree was also at Wayne State University in School & Community Psychology, graduating in 1983. My experience is quite vast. I have worked for the State of Michigan for the severe and profound mentally challenged for many years. I have taught at Oakland Community College, Oakland University, Wayne State University, and Baker College as a contractual teacher and a Professor. I have worked at nursing homes as a staff psychologist. I also have been involved with multiple outpatient clinics, with many being a 10-12 year stay. I have been at Triad for the past four and a half years, but also worked at Triad from 1995-2005. I am also an artist and I create and sell pottery and twig furniture. I have several big shows a year at my studio. I have been doing this for more than 40 years.

Approach:

The population that I work with spans from adolescents to the elderly. The therapies utilized include cognitive behavior therapy, EMDR, behavior modification techniques and EFT-tapping. My skills give me the ability to assist people with anxiety, depression, addictions, social and interpersonal problems, marital and family concerns, substance abuse, codependency, stress and anger management, self-esteem, Christian counseling and life transitions.
